Mike Williamson's early goal was enough to earn Wycombe all three points against Chesterfield at Saltergate.

Williamson helped maintained his side's unbeaten league record after Tommy Doherty free-kick to allow the defender to head home past keeper Trevor Carson.

Jamie Ward's powerful strike was saved by Scott Shearer and the same player volleyed wide in the closing stages as Wycombe preserved their lead.

Ward saw another effort go over the crossbar as Wycombe dug in for victory.
