Ryan Jarvis fired Notts County towards League Two safety as they edged past Accrington at Meadow Lane.

Jarvis got the only goal shortly before half-time, seeing his first effort from a corner blocked and then rifling the rebound past keeper Kenny Arthur.

Shaun Whalley flashed two shots wide as Stanley fought back, Paul Mullin twice just failing to divert the ball in.

Neil MacKenzie fired over from inside the box for County but they managed to hold on during a tense finale.
