County claimed a draw to ease their relegation fears against a Shrewsbury side now with only one win in 17 games.
The visitors went close when Richard Butcher lobbed just wide of an empty net from 40 yards after Shrews keeper Glyn Garner's poor clearance.
Garner then superbly palmed Gary Silk's volley over the crossbar.
Shrewsbury's Ben Davies was denied by Adam Tann's goal-line clearance and saw another goalbound effort hit team-mate Dave Hibbert on the line.
