Morecambe scored twice in the second half to earn their first win in five games and do the double over Brentford.
Stuart Drummond headed the first from Garry Thompson's cross before Glenn Poole missed a chance to equalise when Scott Davies saved his penalty.
Nathan Elder did level with a volley but Thompson restored Morecambe's lead and later crossed for Gary Hunter to head their third.
Alan Connell had two efforts disallowed for Brentford and Poole hit the post.
