Efe Sodje gave away a penalty after four minutes and Ndumbu-Nsungu slotted home to give the visitors the lead.

At the other end, Andy Bishop hit the post for Bury but Cummins extended the lead in the second half when he headed home from the corner.

Bury pushed forward as the clock ticked down and Sodje headed home late on but Darlington held on for the win.
