Brentford made it six away wins for the season with a narrow but convincing win at Shrewsbury to mark Andy Scott's first game in permanent charge. After an opening half without incident Karleigh Osborne bundled the ball in after 52 minutes from close range following Ryan Dickson's corner.
Brentford came close to a second when Glenn Poole skimmed the bar after a slick passing move.
Andy Cooke missed the Shrews best chance when he dragged a shot wide.
