Valentine missed a second-half penalty for Wrexham |
A second-half Anthony Elding goal condemned bottom club Wrexham to their fifth successive defeat. After a goal-less first half, Elding connected with fellow substitute Andy Griffin's 59th-minute shot to provide the decisive strike from six yards.
Wrexham's best chance to equalise came when Michael Raynes' hand ball conceded a penalty, but Conrad Logan saved Ryan Valentine's weak, nervous spot kick.
The Dragons are still without a home win under new boss Brian Little.
