Theo Robinson broke Bury hearts with a stunning last-minute winner as Hereford claimed victory at Gigg Lane. Andy Bishop could have had a hat-trick but he was continually thwarted by the Hereford defence.
Bury's Glynn Hurst had a goal ruled out for offside, while Ben Futcher and Bishop headed wide in the second half.
Paul Scott also shot wide before on-loan Watford striker Robinson smashed an unstoppable left-foot drive past Jim Provett 30 seconds from time.
