A seventh-minute winner from Wycombe's Scott McGleish ended Bradford's unbeaten home record at Valley Parade. McGleish latched onto Sam Stockley's free-kick with a close-range header.
But Bradford created plenty of chances through Paul Evans, while Paul Heckingbottom and Omar Daley both had shots charged down in the second half.
Defender Thomas Harban kept Bradford's deficit to just one goal when he cleared Gary Holt's shot off the line in the final 10 minutes of the game.
