A pair of goals in the first half from Michael Proctor secured a victory for Wrexham as they defeated League Two newcomers Morecombe. Proctor got his first after just six minutes, heading home Chris Llewellyn's cross from the right wing.
And he got his second of the game on 21 minutes, lobbing the ball into the back of the net for 2-0.
Morecombe got back into the game though through Jon Newby, who made it a nervy last 35 minutes, but Wrexham held
on.
