Jack Lester dented Stockport's fine defence record with a late goal to earn Chesterfield a deserved draw. The former Nottingham Forrest striker forced the ball in from close-range in the 79th minute after the visitors had failed to clear a corner.
It was the first goal County had let in in 439 minutes and it would have been worse had keeper Conrad Logan not saved from Lester and Jamie Jackson late on.
Liam Dickinson had earlier headed in David Poole's cross for the opener.
