Rochdale stunned Stockport by thrashing the promotion hopefuls at Edgeley Park. They were 4-0 up after 17 minutes, with Glenn Murray driving home, Alan Goodall heading in, Adam Rundle scoring from the spot and Ben Muirhead firing home.
Stockport pulled two back when Anthony Elding headed past Matthew Gilks and Liam Dickinson scored from 18 yards.
But Rochdale were rampant and Ben Muirhead converted Murray's flick-on, Murray glanced in a header and Chris Dagnall slammed home to wrap it up.
