Lee Mansell's late strike gave Torquay their second successive win at the expense of Rochdale. Mansell pounced to finish off a penalty area scramble with stoppage time approaching, having missed two clear chances in the first half.
Chris Dagnell missed a good chance while Iyseden Christie scuppered two, including an amazing miss that saw him scoop the ball over an open goal.
Mickey Evans hit the post for Torquay in the second half.
