A controversial Chris Lumsdon penalty sealed a comeback win for Carlisle. Wrexham took the lead after the break when a furious Lumsdon was adjudged to have fouled Jon Walters in the box, Matt Crowell scoring from the spot.
Skipper Kevin Gray scrambled an equalising header after his first header rebounded off the crossbar.
Then referee Jonathan Moss harshly ruled that Wrexham keeper Mike Ingham fouled Paul Arnison in the box, and Lumsdon stepped up to blast the winner.
