Yeovil edged past Carlisle to earn their third successive win and move further away from the League One relegation zone.
The hosts saw Andy Welsh's shot cleared off the line by Lubomir Michalik.
Jon Obika, on loan from Tottenham, came close with a header that went just wide, before slotting home after being put through by Dean Bowditch.
Carlisle went forward and finished strongly as Ben Marshall's close range strike hit the bar.
Yeovil Town boss Terry Skiverton told BBC Somerset: "I'm pleased with the result, there's still work to be done but it's put us in a stronger position.
"It wasn't a great game for us but it was an important win and we showed different characteristics having to dig in at the end.
"It was an opportunity we chose to take, we didn't wait for anything to happen."
