Dag & Red v Brighton

Dag & Red 0-1 Brighton

League One leaders Brighton got their eighth win in a row with a smash and grab victory at Dagenham & Redbridge.

The hosts had an early chance to lead, Bas Savage hitting the bar from close in when it was easier to score.

The Daggers had further chances to go in front, Savage shooting at Casper Ankergren before forcing a fingertip save from the Brighton keeper.

And they were made to pay by Glenn Murray, who volleyed in Craig Noone's cross to put his side 13 points clear.

Brighton manager Gus Poyet told BBC Sussex:
"When you are top you get a bit of luck, and when you are at the bottom it goes against you.

"When Glenn Murray keeps coming with the goals, you cannot rest a striker in that kind of form.

"We played eight in March and I thought that would be the key month for us to make it or fail and we won the eight games so I cannot ask for more."
