Sam Baldock hit a hat-trick as MK Dons came from behind to beat Colchester.
Dons' defender Mat Doumbe inadvertently flicked on an Anthony Wordsworth cross to Steven Gillespie, who curled in to put the home side ahead.
Stephen Hughes played in Baldock, who slotted in from close range to equalise for the visitors.
Daniel Powell set up Baldock to fire the Dons ahead, before the striker smashed in from the edge of the area late on to complete the victory.
Colchester United manager John Ward told BBC Essex: "We had a good first half. Once we got the goal we were confident on the ball.
"But in the second period we have conceded poor goals, I accept that.
"We've had opportunities around the side again, and we haven't taken them. We have been second best in both boxes and been pulled apart by a striker in terrific form."
MK Dons manager Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"We limited them in the first half. They actually had more chances in the second half when it was more open.
"So many things went wrong today, I could keep you here all day. Everything went against us.
"At 1-0 down at half-time I just asked them to show everyone how good they are. They went out in the second half and were magnificent."
