Chris Sedgwick's double eventually helped Sheffield Wednesday to a much-needed win over Oldham.
Mark Beevers headed home Gary Teale's cross and Sedgwick bundled home after poor defending to put the Owls 2-0 up.
The Latics, who have now not won in eight games, pulled one back through Filipe Morais' deflected effort.
Dale Stephens' rocket from a Morais pass levelled it up, but Sedgwick converted Tommy Spur's cross at the far post to seal an important victory.
Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson told BBC Radio Sheffield: "Overall it's always a good performance when you get a win but I thought it could have been more emphatic.
"We've taken a two-goal lead and they were nowhere near us and we conceded a silly foul which gave them the momentum.
"At half time I said to them we've won it once now go and win it again. They had that momentum, we lost it but delighted with the way we went about our work."
