New Swindon boss Paul Hart was unable to inspire his side to victory over fellow strugglers Walsall in a dull encounter lacking goalmouth incident.
A win could have taken the Robins above the visitors and out of the drop zone but defences were on top throughout.
The home side had the only noteworthy chances with Jonathan Douglas hitting the post with a first-half header.
Michael Rose almost won the points with a fierce strike in the final minute of injury time but his effort hit the bar.
Swindon manager Paul Hart told BBC Wiltshire: "I was really very pleased with the way the players went about their job.
"I thought we kept possession well, passed it very well, defended tremendously well.
"If we'd just had a little bit of accuracy, and perhaps better shooting, in the final third we may have had two or three (goals)."
