Struggling Walsall held Rochdale to a goalless draw as the visitors extended their unbeaten run to 10 matches.
The Saddlers dominated the first half with Alex Nicholls going close with a volley and Will Grigg shooting over the bar from close range.
Rochdale looked the more likely side to win it after the break and Matty Done put his diving header wide from a Gary Jones cross.
In the closing stages, Walsall's Aaron Lescott saw his drive deflected over.
Walsall remain in the League One relegation zone on goal difference.
Rochdale manager Keith Hill told BBC Radio Manchester:
"I don't think we were as good as we should have been in the first half, but I'm really pleased with the performance in the second half.
"I won't argue with the result as it would have probably taken away from what Walsall deserved.
"We've come here today looked a bit ring-rusty but I'm really pleased with the clean sheet."
