Huddersfield made it eight games without defeat after a goalless draw with fellow play-off chasers Oldham.
Anthony Pilkington nearly put the home side ahead, but his 25-yard free-kick was superbly saved by visiting goalkeeper Ben Amos.
Reuben Reid saw a shot cleared off the line by Jamie McCombe as the visitors also pressed forward.
But Pilkington came closest to breaking the deadlock when his curled cross hit the post and bounced to safety.
Oldham Athletic player-manager Paul Dickov told BBC Radio Manchester: "I'm absolutely delighted with the boys, I thought they were excellent.
"Our defending was top class from front to back especially our two centre backs and if anything second half we had the better chances.
"It was a game of few chances so to come here and to get a point is fantastic for us."
