Tranmere's game with Notts County was abandoned after 53 minutes because of a waterlogged pitch with the visitors leading 1-0.
The Magpies took the lead in the first half when Lee Hughes chested down the ball and Alan Gow fired home from outside the penalty area.
Rovers had a chance to level, but Andy Robinson missed a penalty.
But referee Peter Quinn deemed that miss irrelevant as both sides will have to try again on a date to be decided.
Notts County assistant manager Alex Rae told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We're obviously very disappointed. We got ourselves in a good position and it just means another game to the fixture list.
"There's nothing you can do against the weather unfortunately.
"It's treacherous. Just having a look at it now from this vantage point emphasises that it was the correct decision."
