Peterborough fought back from 3-2 down to beat 10-man Sheffield Wednesday.
Jermaine Johnson fired the Owls in front before Craig Mackail-Smith poked home for 1-1, while Gary Madine pounced to restore the visitors' advantage.
George Boyd struck from 20 yards, Chris Sedgwick put Wednesday ahead again from close range but then Darren Potter saw red for fouling Mackail-Smith.
Boyd rifled in again, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing scored at the second attempt and Mackail-Smith passed into an empty net.
Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "It's a great result - you want to win your home games and it puts us back in the top six.
"Sheffield Wednesday did their homework so we had to change it at half time.
"I don't think we have done well enough against the so called big teams before tonight."
Sheffield Wednesday manager Alan Irvine told BBC Radio Sheffield: "That was bitterly disappointing, I felt as if we were comfortable until the sending off and obviously it made a huge difference.
"We'll keep working hard, keep working away and get the work done at the training ground as much as we possibly can and hopefully things can turn round.
"I wasn't surprised it was a red card, I felt as if another referee might have looked at it and thought that there was a covering defender but it wasn't a surprise that it was a red card."
