An injury-time strike from Mark Carrington secured a dramatic win for MK Dons at Dagenham & Redbridge.
Marvin Morgan had the best chance to put the hosts ahead, but fired straight at Dons keeper David Martin.
Peter Leven curled a shot wide for the visitors, before Dagenham's Danny Green was sent off for a reckless elbow.
Carrington struck the winner in the third minute of injury-time when his weak shot was fumbled over the line by goalkeeper Tony Roberts.
MK Dons manager Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio: "When you see the way the pitch is, it was extremely difficult. We are thoroughly pleased with the win and the three points.
"I thought in the first half they (Dagenham) shaded the game. We changed the system at half-time and went with three up top and dictated the play.
"I thought it was going to be one of those days when things don't drop for you, then we get the ultimate piece of luck in the ninety-fourth minute."
