Ten-man Bristol Rovers were booed off by their fans after Leyton Orient cruised to victory.
Orient raced to a two-goal lead as Dean Cox fired in at the far post and Alex Revell headed home from close range.
Full-back Carl Regan was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Stephen Dawson before Revell grabbed his second when he shot in from six yards.
Revell missed the chance to complete his hat-trick when he volleyed wide while Cox's late free-kick flew wide.
Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope told BBC Radio Bristol: "It's an unacceptable performance and I don't think I saw it coming and I don't think the staff did either.
"It was a deserved defeat and there's a lot of work to do and we've got to stick together and make sure we bounce back.
"We had a long, long chat and there were a few harsh words obviously in the dressing room and a good chat about consistency."
Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade told BBC London 94.9: "We've threatened to do this so many times over recent weeks and we've thrown good advantages away.
"Today there was good resilience to make sure we hung on to it.
"We just kept working the ball and made life very difficult and reduced bristol Rovers to a free-kick or corner where they could get back into the game."
