Charlton brushed aside Swindon to remain in the play-off places.
The Addicks had to withstand some early pressure but took the lead when Johnnie Jackson rifled home Paul Benson's pass.
Joe Ayinsah headed in Matt Fry's cross to make it 2-0 after both Charlie Austin and Paul Caddis missed good opportunities for the hosts.
The second goal killed off the Robins challenge and Scott Wagstaff skipped down the left to cross for Benson who added the gloss with a far post header.
Swindon Town boss Danny Wilson told BBC Wiltshire: "You've seen exactly where our soft underbelly is tonight. We didn't deal with their strikers all game and we didn't put their centre-backs under enough pressure at home.
"With the young ones in there and possibly one or two of the senior players too not helping out, that's where the fault lies.
"The five players out of the side at the moment is virtually all the experience and it's very difficult to function without them."
