Rochdale ended their run of three defeats in a row by beating Dagenham and Redbridge, despite a late rally.
Chris O'Grady put the home side ahead when he struck from 18 yards.
Anthony Elding swept in a Nicky Adams cross to double the advantage and Jones fired in from an O'Grady cross to extend the lead.
Damian Scannell pulled a goal back from close range and Mark Arber nodded home Danny Green's corner, but Rochdale held on and the Daggers are now bottom.
Rochdale manager Keith Hill told BBC Radio Manchester: "Three points some excellent football and the type of style that we want to play and be successful in."
"We failed to deal with set plays from Dagenham and they nearly had a chance to salvage something from the game and I would have been really annoyed and angry had we thrown it away."
"I'm confident in my players and I believe in them and a lot of other people have to believe in what we're doing at this football club instead of moaning and groaning about it."
