Leyton Orient lifted themselves off the bottom of the League One table as they held on for a narrow win over Brentford in the London derby at Brisbane Road.
Russell Slade's Orient have won only once in seven league games this season - and they had lost their last three.
But Scott McGleish came up with the goods, firing home the only goal of the game on 25 minutes from close range.
Andy Scott's Bees, midweek League Cup conquerors of Premier League Everton, are now just two places off the bottom.
The decisive goal came in the 25th minute when Stephen Dawson and Charlie Daniels combined to tee up McGleish's third of the season.
The nearest Brentford came to a reply was defender Michael Spillane's header against a post from Nicky Adams' free-kick six minutes before the break.
Bees midfielder Myles Weston laid on a second-half chance for striker Gary Alexander, but his header was well off target, while Orient sub Jimmy Smith was inches away in added time.
