Hat-trick hero Jeff Hughes ensured Bristol Rovers secured an impressive victory over Dagenham & Redbridge.
Despite Gavin Tomlin's early chances for the home side, Rovers took the lead when the Daggers' defence allowed Hughes to waltz through and slot home.
Shortly after, hesitation from Scott Doe and Romain Vincelot enabled Hughes to stab in his second.
And Hughes secured his and Bristol's third from the spot, after Mark Arber brought down John Akinde late on.
Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope told BBC Radio Bristol:
"Jeff's got goals in him, we saw that last year, and he's managed to get in behind their back four for two good finishes.
"We defended well, they desperately tried to get back in the game and pushed us back but we certainly coped very well with that.
"There's still lots of things to work on but it'll be a confidence boost to lead into two home games."
