Hartlepool United gained their first point in four matches by holding Brentford to a goalless draw.
Pools defender Gary Liddle was the closest to claiming a breakthrough but his effort hit the inside of the post before being cleared to safety.
Brentford had opportunities but Pools goalkeeper Jake Kean denied Charlie MacDonald and then Gary Alexander.
Substitute Nicky Forster missed with a volley for the hosts, before Sam Saunders curled a late effort wide.
Brentford boss Andy Scott told BBC London 94.9: "We didn't make the keeper work as much as we did last week. The quality wasn't quite there in the final third.
"It took us half an hour to get going and a third of the game has already gone."
