Wycombe ensured Gillingham will join them in dropping to League Two after a comfortable win over the Kent side.
The home team dominated the first half, forcing Alan Julian into three diving saves before taking the lead through a curling finish from Matt Phillips.
The Gills were wasteful as Rene Howe missed an open goal, Simeon Jackson hit wide and Dennis Oli scuffed his shot.
And they were made to pay as Alan Bennett made it 2-0 before Kevin Betsy sealed the win with a deflected shot.
Gillingham manager Mark Stimson tells BBC Radio Kent:
"I'm contracted for next season but that decision is up to the chairman. He'll be honest with me.
"You can see the supporters shouting my name - out - and they were not too happy but that is a discussion me and the chairman will have and I am sure he will make the right decision to take the club forward.
"It's a massive body blow."
