Jason Price grabbed the third goal of his loan spell as Carlisle ended a run of three straight defeats to draw their mid-table meeting with Walsall.
Darren Byfield gave the Saddlers the lead when he ran on to Julian Gray's ball and fired in a shot that Adam Collin only managed to get a hand to.
Collin then needed two attempts to save another low Byfield effort.
Price equalised for Carlisle when he picked up Gary Madine's flick-on and beat Rene Gilmartin with a low shot.
