Gillingham boosted their survival hopes with a deserved victory over promotion-chasing Leeds at Priestfield.
Adam Miller headed the home side ahead before turning provider for Mark Bentley to nod in a second.
Two minutes later the rampant Gills made it three when Leeds's Richard Naylor headed into his own net.
Luciano Becchio's close-range finish and Jermaine Beckford's late penalty, after he had been fouled by Bentley, gave Leeds hope but the Gills held on.
The victory takes Gillingham three points clear of the relegation zone with three games left to play.
Leeds remain in the second automatic promotion place only because rivals Charlton lost at home to Norwich - a result which saw the Canaries promoted - and Swindon drew at home to Walsall.
Gillingham manager Mark Stimson told BBC Radio Kent:
"We faced a really good side in Leeds United and we had to go for it from the beginning and try and put them under pressure. We did that and we got our rewards.
"After half an hour we were 3-0 up and standing on the sidelines you can't really believe that. But we knew Leeds would come into the game because they've got some quality players and I'm sure they'll go on and gain automatic promotion.
"But for us it was a fantastic three points and it gives us a chance now."
