Alex Revell scored a goal in each half as Wycombe kept their survival hopes alive with a valuable victory over fellow strugglers Tranmere.
Wycombe went ahead when Revell slotted into the corner from 10 yards after Gareth Ainsworth's effort was blocked.
After the restart Paul McLaren shaved the bar before Revell charged down a Luke Daniels clearance and lobbed home.
Matt Bloomfield heaped further misery on Tranmere late on as he headed home Kevin Betsy's cross.
Tranmere manager Les Parry Told BBC Radio Merseyside: "They've got to look at themselves, everyone of them has got to look at themselves.
"We didn't go out and we didn't impose ourselves on the game and you can't do that. If you do that, then you deserve what you get.
"We have to go out and we have to be sharp and we have to go out and show the opposition we mean mean business and we didn't."
