Southend remain entrenched in the League One relegation zone following a goalless draw with Yeovil.
Shaun McDonald and Dean Bowditch both fired over for Yeovil early on as the away side started the better.
Glovers keeper Alex McCarthy saved a low drive from Scott Vernon, who then saw a shot cleared by Steven Caulker.
Terrell Forbes fired wide for Yeovil after the break, whilst Pat Baldwin went close for Southend late on with a half-volley but it remained goalless.
Southend United manager Steve Tilson told BBC Essex:
"After the last two or three games, where we looked like we could score plenty of goals, I thought today was a flat performance.
"It is a tough league and there have certainly been events during the week that have not helped the cause. I'm not going to hide the fact we haven't been paid again and that isn't helping."
