Southampton striker Lee Barnard scored twice as Saints thrashed Walsall.
The Saddlers took the lead through a curling 25-yard free-kick from Matt Richards but Jason Puncheon equalised after combining with Rickie Lambert.
Barnard pounced to put Saints ahead after Jose Fonte headed across goal and then he converted a Jon Otsemobor pass with a half-volley to make it 3-1.
Lambert added a fourth from another Otsemobor cross before Adam Lallana tapped home into an empty net late on.
Southampton manager Alan Pardew told BBC Radio Solent:
"Everybody was determined to show that we are a good team.
"It's about performances and the stats don't lie, we are putting together a run as good as anybody's and the fans are being absolutely brilliant with us."
