Millwall remain in the promotion hunt after Neil Harris' 17th goal of the season gave them a win over Hartlepool.
Harris picked himself up after being fouled and curled a deflected free-kick past Pools keeper Scott Flinders for his 11th goal in as many games.
Hartlepool could have levelled soon after but Antony Sweeney's shot was well saved by Lions keeper David Forde.
Millwall were denied a second when Alan Dunne's header struck the bar but in the end one goal was enough.
Millwall boss Kenny Jackett told BBC London 94.9 that:
"Hartlepool are a good side and have a lot of ability in their team.
"I didn't ever think it was going to be easy, but having said that, it was an average performance from us today.
"I didn't think we did anything well, we didn't do anything poorly either, but we can play better than that."
