Charlton moved level on points with second-placed Norwich in League One after a victory over Hartlepool.
The home side took the lead when David Mooney beat keeper Scott Flinders with a close range header.
Denis Behan scored from the spot after Miguel Angel Llera fouled Antony Sweeney to equalise for Hartlepool.
But Charlton secured the win with substitute Scott Wagstaff scoring two minutes after coming on as he drilled home a 30-yard shot.
