Billy Paynter scored twice as in-form Swindon romped to a comfortable victory that leaves promotion hopefuls Leeds without a league win in three matches.
Leeds, who have failed to replicate their fine cup form in the league recently, fell behind when Charlie Austin scored from Simon Ferry's pass.
Lescinel Jean-Francois' swinging cross was then finished in style by Paynter.
And the striker converted from the spot after Leeds keeper Casper Ankergren had pulled him back in the area.
Swindon Town assistant manager Peter Shirtliff told BBC Wiltshire:
"We're very pleased and proud of the players and it was a very good performance and I don't think 3-0 flattered us at all.
"We've just got to keep things on an even keel now and not get excited. There's 21 games to go.
"I think Bill (Paynter) is a good player. I've seen an improvement in him since the start of the season and the competition for places has given him an edge."
Leeds United manager Simon Grayson told BBC Radio Leeds:
"I don't think any player can come out of this game with any credit at all.
"Hopefully this is the major kick up the backside we need because one or two people are getting carried away with their own publicity.
"We have to stick together, this is just a little blip. We still have a lot of confidence we can turn it away and still get to where we want to get to."
