Millwall lifted themselves into the League One play-off places with a victory over Southend.
Lions winger Danny Schofield gave the home side the lead in first-half stoppage time when he pounced on Jack Smith's mishit shot and fired in.
Shaun Batt marked his first Millwall appearance after a move from Peterborough by shooting high into the net to put his side in control.
Southend rarely threatened as Millwall comfortably eased to three points.
Millwall manager Kenny Jacket told BBC London 94.9:
"I thought we had more of the chances and were more of a threat than Southend and we deserved to win."
"The conditions didn't make for a fantastic spectacle, but after two clean sheets on the trot and six points over the last two games, we can look forward to Brighton."
Southend United manager Steve Tilson told BBC Essex:
"The officials were poor tonight, very poor.
"The first goal was a free-kick on Simon Francis out wide and then the boy's offside when he scores the goal.
"That was bang on half-time and we thought we'd done ever so well to go in 0-0 at half-time and it was a massive body blow for the boys."
