Goals from Bristol Rovers' Chris Lines and Darryl Duffy secured a comfortable victory over Hartlepool and kept alive the home side's slim play-off hopes.
Rovers took an early lead when Lines headed home Stuart Campbell's corner.
Danny Coles' long ball put Duffy clear and the substitute made sure of the points with a low shot into the corner.
Rovers' Mikkel Andersen saved a Neil Austin free-kick before Mark Wright nearly made it 3-0 with a shot which was superbly blocked by Gary Liddle.
Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope told BBC Radio Bristol:
"It was a performance we're not particularly proud of but it's also a good sign we've played for 20 minutes and managed to win.
"We just felt we needed something different and Daryl Duffy has come in and shown his quality.
"He scored 13 goals last year when he hit form in the second half of the season and there's nothing to suggest he can't do the same this season."
