Grayson's Leeds team have now gone 10 league matches unbeaten
Leeds came from behind to beat a resolute Stockport, who lost for an 11th successive league game.
Robert Snodgrass fired United into a second-minute lead but Carl Baker's low free-kick levelled matters.
Johnny Mullins headed County ahead on the hour but Jermaine Beckford equalised for Leeds six minutes later.
With three minutes left, Leigh Bromby's drive gave United the lead and Beckford's second sealed the win before David Poole was sent off for County.
Leeds United manager Simon Grayson told BBC Radio Leeds:
"It was a decent game and very entertaining, despite begin a difficult surface for both sides to play on.
"We knew we had to win this one and to come back from 2-1 down and claim another important three points is very pleasing, making it a very good Christmas period for us.
"This is a big result for us, probably more important than some of the wins that we've claimed over our promotional rivals already this season.
"To pick up so many bookings, some deserved some not, is the only disappointing thing."
