Wes Hoolahan scored his 13th goal of the season in the first half then set up Grant Holt in the second to win a keenly-contested encounter for Norwich.
The home side's Chris Martin saw a goal disallowed for offside before Hoolahan struck from 10 yards after 28 minutes.
Just after the hour mark Martin played in the overlapping Hoolahan, whose glorious cross was headed home by Holt.
Jason Price nearly pulled a goal back for Milwall late on, but Norwich have now won eight home games in a row.
Norwich manager Paul Lambert told BBC Radio Norfolk:
"Another big, big win and some terrific football, the atmosphere was different class.
"I thought we played really well against a really good side, one of the best team's that's been here this year.
"The team's in such good form, even though we had to make some personnel changes due to different things, but all credit to the players."
Millwall boss Kenny Jackett told BBC London 94.9:
"Up to the first goal we were good, causing Norwich problems but they had an edge that held us off.
"Once the second goal went in it became too difficult for us. We couldn't impose ourselves on them, we just couldn't do it."
