Substitute Joe Anyinsah's winner secured an amazing win for Carlisle at MK Dons after they blew a 3-0 lead.
The Cumbrians raced ahead as Kevan Hurst drilled in an opener, before Vincent Pericard nodded in a Hurst free-kick and then headed home another.
MK Dons hit back when Nick Chadwick's snap-shot from 18 yards flew in and he made it 3-2 with a close-range finish.
Sam Baldock fired in a leveller before Anyinsah's touch won it, while Carlisle had Tom Taiwo sent off late on.
MK Dons assistant manager Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"You can't defend people. People that have been to this game will look at it and have exactly the same opinion as myself, it's not good enough for MK Dons.
"From open play we were by far the better team. But we have to be mentally stronger, and physically stronger and defend so much better. We didn't have a desire to win the ball."
