Leeds 4-0 Yeovil

Leeds recovered from a slow start to inflict a 4-0 defeat on Yeovil and move seven points clear at the top.

Bradley Johnson gave Leeds a deserved lead just before half-time, after his cross avoided everyone to beat Yeovil goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.

Max Gradel doubled the advantage after collecting a pass from Leigh Bromby and scoring from a narrow angle.

Jermaine Beckford pounced on a mistake by Terrell Forbes to make it three before Tresor Kandor headed a fourth.

It was nothing more than the hosts deserved after another one-sided display at Elland Road.

Beckford had twice been denied by the offside flag before he notched his 11th goal of the campaign.

Yeovil, unbeaten in their previous six matches, had a penalty claim rejected when Jonathan Obika fell under Andrew Hughes' challenge.

Leeds United manager Simon Grayson told BBC Radio Leeds:

"We knew we had to move the ball more in the second half and have that extra spark and we certainly got that.

"We dug in and got the two goal lead and that allowed us to relax and play our quality game and we scored some nice goals.

"Seven points clear now is nice and it's good to have a platform to build on, but we know we are now there to be shot at."

Yeovil Town manager Terry Skiverton told BBC Somerset:

"Leeds put a lot more crosses into our box in the second half - we didn't stop the crosses and that's why we ended up coming unstuck."

"Alex McCarthy made four or five good saves so I can't grumble with the scoreline - all credit to [Leeds], because they were better than us."

"It was a good reality check for us. There was lots of talk about us doing well so it's good to come here and learn some lessons."
