A last-minute goal from Richard Keogh rescued a point for Carlisle.
Walsall took the lead when Darren Byfield drove the ball home from inside the area but Carlisle were level through Matty Robson's fine strike.
The hosts restored their lead on 74 minutes with Troy Deeney hitting a post with a rising drive which substitute Steve Jones converted on the rebound.
But late on Keogh headed Marc Bridge-Wilkinson cross past Rene Gilmartin to share the spoils.
