Norwich's revival under Paul Lambert continued as they recorded their second thumping home victory in a week.
After beating Leyton Orient 4-0 on Tuesday, Norwich got off to the perfect start thanks to Chris Martin's curler.
Jeff Hughes's penalty levelled it after a foul on Jo Kuffour, only for Norwich to respond through Wes Hoolahan's spot-kick following Bryan Anthony's foul.
Grant Holt put the Canaries in charge with a far-post finish and solo goal, and Jamie Cureton lashed in a fifth.
Norwich manager Paul Lambert told BBC Radio Norfolk:
"The lads were brilliant, we got a great goal at the beginning and to score five, we're certainly playing at the top of our game.
"After the Charlton game and the Gillingham game, in that kind of adversity, it gives you that little bit of belief.
"The lads have got that in abundance at the minute and they're doing really, really great."
Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope told BBC Radio Bristol:
"There were a lot of issues that raised their head this afternoon that we need to address because that wasn't us and that's not what we've been about.
"The manager of the month thing was great for the club as a whole...but football's got a funny knack of kicking you in the teeth when you think you're going nicely.
"We're going to have this bad taste in our mouths for two weeks but it'll maybe give us a little wake-up call that we needed."
