Two first-half strikes sunk Stockport, Mike Grella accepting a short pass from Bradley Johnson inside the box before curling an effort into the corner.
Lubomir Michalik stabbed home from six yards amid protests after Leigh Bromby appeared to impede Owain Fon Williams.
Leeds could have had more but Williams saved Robert Snodgrass' weak penalty.
Leeds boss Simon Grayson told BBC Radio Leeds:
"I'm very proud to be in charge of a successful team and set these record (winning 14 consecutive home games and eight straight matches from the start of the season).
"There has been a lot of great players and teams here at Leeds, so for us to achieve is fantastic.
"The players can be proud about what they have done, but maybe not so much this performance, but at least we won.
