Myles Weston scored twice and Sam Wood added a third as League Two champions Brentford proved too pacy for Carlisle.
Weston took just 12 minutes to open his account for the Bees, heading home Sam Saunders' inswinging corner.
Saunders then handled the ball to give away a penalty, which Ian Harte converted to put Carlisle level.
Weston's second, in the 47th minute, went though the legs of goalkeeper Lennie Pidgeley and Wood's strike was deflected past him by Richard Keogh.
Brentford manager Andy Scott told BBC London 94.9: "I think we thoroughly deserved to win the game and were more or less dominant in open play.
"They had some chances from set pieces but if that was a smash and grab then I would like to see what you see as a dominant performance.
"We could have had seven or eight goals comfortably. We had the chances and they didn't create anything apart from set pieces."
