Rickie Lambert finished the season as League One's joint top scorer, netting his 29th of the season as Bristol Rovers hammered lacklustre Hartlepool.
Pools were 2-0 down inside five minutes as Jo Kuffour and Darryl Duffy struck.
Danny Nardiello's 28th minute shot pulled one back, but Lambert's left-foot shot restored the two-goal lead.
Lambert set up Aaron Lescott to score and seal the win against a Hartlepool side whose League One survival was secured by results elsewhere.
